WHAT YOU GET
YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENT PACKAGE
I believe the best way to help you write your most effective Personal Statement is to talk with you on the phone. As you complete each draft, I want to listen to you after I've read what you've written. And then I want to explain my response to what you have to say and to your writing.
This is why I will not accept more students than I believe I can help. This is also why I don't limit my reviews to email and text communications.
Before we begin or you lay out any money, please take advantage of a FREE 15-minute general introductory conversation with us about your law school plans and admissions writing needs.
Call us and tell us when during the day (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time) you would like to talk. 914-629-1328.
After our conversation, if you choose to proceed, you will send us a completed contact form, payment of our fee, and a draft of your personal statement. We will identify this draft as your Draft #1.
We will critique your Draft #1 within two days and return it to you with our comments. We will then jointly schedule your 30-minute Phone conversation #1. This is the way we will continue through drafts 2, 3, and 4 and phone conversations 2, 3 and 4.
-
Phone conversation #2 – 30 minutes
This consultation will take place after you have reviewed our edit of Draft #2.
-
Phone conversation #3 – 30 minutes
This consultation will take place after you have reviewed our edit of Draft #3.
-
Phone conversation #4 – 30 minutes
This consultation will take place after you have reviewed our edit of Draft #4.
WHAT OUR REVIEWS OF YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENT DRAFTS WILL COVER
-
We’ll edit each draft of your personal statement IN DETAIL. Yes, we’ll look at the basics – grammar, spelling, punctuation – but we’ll focus our attention on those elements of writing that make excellent personal statements stand out from the rest.
-
Whether your first draft is nearly perfect or at some point short of that, we will teach you how to achieve perfection. We want your personal essay to be as good as it can be.
-
Each edit will review your essay for effectiveness of the opening and closing, organization of the essay, paragraph structure, word choice and usage, voice, and so much more explained below.
-
Some applicants trip over the basics. We'll doublecheck the basics like spelling, grammar and punctuation.
-
And then there are the directions in your application form. These directions are more than a “suggestion” or a “guideline” and warrant your attention.
BONUS
PERSONAL STATEMENTS FOR ADDITIONAL
LAW SCHOOL APPLICATIONS
Paying for professional advice on multiple law school applications can be
unnecessarily expensive. Take the skills you will learn in crafting your personal
essay for use in your other law school applications.
However, should you feel the need for assistance with essays for additional
law school applications, we will not apply a full package fee but, instead, we
will provide this assistance at our standard hourly fee of $100.
At that time, you can decide whether you want a cursory review and opinion or a more detailed review.
DIVERSITY STATEMENT/
ADDITIONAL ESSAY/ RESUME
Some law school applications require an additional essay, a diversity statement and/or a resume. Some applicants wish to submit an addendum essay. Our billing for these services is at our standard hourly fee. However, to reduce the cost of providing these services, we offer advice during a phone consultation after a general review of whatever essay and/or resume you want assistance with.
Billing is for our general review and the phone conversation. If you wish to have a detailed, marked-up review as we provide with our detailed review of you Personal Statement, this will be billed at our hourly fee.
“I’ll show you how to use what you do here for your other law school applications.”
